Packers to deal CB Randall to Browns for QB Kizer
CLEVELAND -- A person familiar with the trade says the Cleveland Browns have traded quarterback DeShone Kizer to the Green Bay Packers.
In exchange, the Browns are getting cornerback Damarious Randall.
The teams struck the deal on Friday, shortly after the Browns made two other major deals, said the person who spoke to The Associated Press on condition of anonymity because NFL teams are not permitted to announce deals until the new league calendar starts next week.
Earlier, the Browns agreed to acquire quarterback Tyrod Taylor from Buffalo and Pro Bowl wide receiver Jarvis Landry from Miami.
Kizer struggled as a rookie starter, going 0-15 and leading the NFL with 22 interceptions. His departure will impact the Browns' plans in free agency and the draft.
Before landing Taylor, Cleveland was expected to target a veteran in free agency. The Browns may still do that and are expected to use the No. 1 overall pick in this year's draft on a QB.
