LeBron wonders who, exactly, is taking away triple-doubles

When LeBron James learned his triple-double had been removed from NBA record books, his first reaction was that it didn't really matter. After all, James and the Cavaliers won the game in question -- defeating the New Orleans Pelicans by a 118-113 count.

But James' second reaction?

"Who is the guy in the league office checking every stat?" James asked. "That was my second reaction."

James initially was credited with 32 points, 12 rebounds and 10 assists. But upon further review, it was announced the next afternoon that James actually only compiled 11 rebounds and nine assists. That means no double figures in three separate categories -- hence, no triple-double.

"My kids didn't quite like it at all," James said, smiling. "They were like, 'Why would they do that?'"

Still, LeBron stressed what really mattered was the victory. It was the Cavs' second straight and improved the Big Three-led team of James, Kevin Love and Kyrie Irving to 3-3.

"If we would've lost and the assist had been taken away, I would've had a problem with it," James reiterated. "But I just want to know who is in the office, 13 games a night, recording every statistical category. And if that's the case, why am I the only one? It's my second time, by the way."

To answer James' question, the league does indeed have "loggers" watching and monitoring every game.

"If something is flagged that is out of the ordinary, we will review it," NBA spokesman Tim Frank told FOX Sports Ohio.

Still, while hardly displaying anger, James couldn't help but wonder if there's something bigger at play.

"I don't know if it's a Cleveland thing or it's a LeBron thing...I don't know," he said.

James and the Cavs travel to Boston to face the Celtics on Friday. Tipoff is 7 p.m. on FOX Sports Ohio.
