'Inside the Heat: James Johnson' premieres Dec. 3 on FOX Sports Sun

MIAMI (Dec. 1, 2017) -- Tune in Sunday, Dec. 3 at 10 p.m. on FOX Sports Sun, the regional television home of the Miami HEAT, as we get set to premiere an all-new episode of "Inside the HEAT" upon conclusion of the HEAT vs. Golden State Warriors game. "Inside the HEAT: James Johnson" invites viewers to kick it with Miami's versatile forward in a Wynwood martial arts studio.

Although basketball is James' passion, a jersey isn't the only uniform he's used to wearing. James spent a lot of time on the mat growing up while performing martial arts in his father's studio. With his father as his instructor, James and his eight siblings became deeply dedicated towards the sport. As he advanced, his fighting skills became sharper, never having lost a fight. Though a talented fighter, James was also developing his game as a basketball player. James went on to win the state championship as well as MVP of the Nike All-American camp in high school; it was these marquee moments that led to the start of his basketball journey. After completing a successful collegiate career within two seasons at Wake Forest, James was drafted by the Chicago Bulls in the first round of the 2009 NBA Draft. James would go on to play for five different teams over the course of seven seasons. He's elevated his game to another level and become an integral part of the team since joining the HEAT last year.
