SEAL BEACH, CA -- The Los Angeles Clippers are looking to share their knowledge of the game with a new generation of basketball enthusiasts through the Clippers Youth Basketball Camps.

Six week-long camps have taken place so far this summer, all across Los Angeles. Former NBA forward Lamond Murray has been to all of them, giving kids tips and advice from a professional standpoint.

"Every camp we have one or two kids that show great potential," Murray says. "We had a camp way out in Loma Linda, and one kid was there with his personal instructor at 6 in the morning, before we even showed up to camp. So we get a variety of kids, from the novice trying to learn the game, to kids who are really serious about the game and can really have an impact on the game."

Murray played for the Clippers from 1994-1999. He was selected in the first round, 7th overall by Los Angeles. He then went onto play for the Cleveland Cavaliers from 1999-2002, the Toronto Raptors from 2002-2005, and the New Jersey Nets from 2005-2006. When asked if he signed his official retirement papers he says, "No, I didn't sign my retirement papers because I thought I could still play! But I might sign them next year."

Murray's son is following in his father's footsteps. He's playing basketball at Pepperdine on a D1 scholarship. His daughter, who plays both basketball and volleyball, is attending Long Beach State University on a volleyball scholarship.

Murray thanked AIM Sportsplex for allowing the camp to use their venue in Seal Beach.
