Fantasy Football Hot Takes: Week 6

So while the bargain bin articles are reserved for the value, and often, safer plays. This article will be geared more for those fiery takes that may lead to taking down a tournament in fantasy football week 6. Not only is playing the chalk boring, but it’s quite unprofitable in most tournament formats. Here are my red-hot Fantasy Football Hot Takes.

Alex Smith will be a top 5 QB

Let me preface this by saying that this prediction could drastically change depending on how the weather turns out come Sunday morning. Alex Smith isn’t known for his down the field passing, but if there truly are wind gust in the 20 – 30 MPH range, I’ll be mitigating my exposure to the game as a whole. Now that that’s out-of-the-way, I can now profess my love for the shootout that this game is going to be.

I talked up Jeremy Maclin and Travis Kelce in my bargains article, but to reiterate, I don’t see how this Oakland defense can stop Andy Reid‘s team coming off of a bye. Oakland has allowed the second highest PPR fantasy points to opposing wide receivers and I don’t see that changing any time soon. It’s also important to note that Alex Smith does have some sneaky rushing upside and has been known to run for a touchdown every once in a while.

LeSean McCoy will score over 30 DraftKings points

While McCoy won’t be much of a contrarian play, he’s a chalk play that I’ll still be fully exposed to. The Bills currently sit as 9 point favorites, at home. It’s a dream spot for Shady, as he continues to soak up all of the usage in the Bills’ offense. His usage should only increase as they’ll take on San Fran, who is playing at the fastest pace in the NFL. The Bill’s have seen sharp action already influence the 1.5 point line move. I’d expect Shady to nab the 100 yard rushing bonus, then toss in a touchdown, and a few receptions, and he’ll be on his way to a big day.

The Texan’s offense will score 4 or more touchdowns

Will the Brock-et Ship finally take off? (Yikes, that was cheesy, I’ll see myself out) Seriously, this kid is stealing money from the Texans at this point.

More from Fantasy CPR

If there’s any defense you want to face to get out of a slump, the Colt’s have to be one of them. As of now, the Texans are 3 point favorites and projected to score 25.75 points. While the Colt’s were able to get a few players back from injury, they continue to give up points and allow opposing offenses to have their way. So far Indy has given up 29.6 points per game, which ranks them second worst in the NFL.

It’s been reported that Vontae Davis will not shadow this week, so both DeAndre Hopkins and Will Fuller are slated to see some coverage from Davis, but I think Brock will have no problem throwing the ball around. I’ll have some exposure to Brock and Fuller stacks, Miller and Houston defense stacks, and Miller, Houston defense and Fuller stacks.

Russell Wilson and the Seattle Seahawks will beat Atlanta by double digits

Again, this game could be influenced by weather so be on the lookout for the latest weather reports come Sunday. Outside of wind and rain, I think this is a nut spot for almost every relevant fantasy player on the Seattle. Starting at quarterback, all signs point to Russell Wilson being close to, if not, fully healthy. At running back, Christine Michael will continue to get the bulk of the carries, and if this game gets out of hand quick (Seattle is favored by 6.5 points) we could see a steady dose of Michael. Then at the pass catching positions, Baldwin, Graham, and Lockett, will go up against the Atlanta secondary which has allowed opposing pass catchers to put up huge games.

    Good luck.
