Celtics honor Baylor's Isaiah Austin prior to game

Hearts of sports fans across the country broke a few days prior to the NBA Draft when it was revealed that potential lottery pick and Baylor Bear Isaiah Austin would have to give up playing competitive basketball forever.

Austin was diagnosed with Marfan syndrome, a condition that produced an enlarged aorta that could cause his heart to rupture if he continued to play. But the NBA and fans rallied behind him.

During the draft, prior to the 16th pick, Commissioner Adam Silver gave Austin his moment by having the NBA draft him in a moment that would become one of the most heartwarming sports scenes of recent years.

Austin remained in high spirits and dedicated his time to raising awareness for Marfan syndrome. That work lead to the Celtics honoring him and presenting him with his own jersey prior to its season-opening win over the Nets Wednesday night as a part of their "Hero Among Us" initiative.

We couldn't think of a better person to receive this honor.
