Woman sues Eagles' McCoy, claiming assault on bus

A woman has sued Philadelphia Eagles running back LeSean McCoy, claiming he or a body guard hit her, threw a drink at her and tossed her off a party bus on the New Jersey Turnpike last December.

The woman, identified by the fictitious name Mary Roe in legal papers, filed the suit in the Philadelphia Court of Common Pleas on May 10.

She's asking for more than $50,000 in damages.

She says she was one of about 15 women who joined McCoy and five other men on a bus for a night out in New York on Dec. 18. She said she was invited to join by McCoy's publicist.

The woman says in the suit that she objected on the way home the next morning when men began spraying some of women with water.

After that, she says, she was roughed up by either McCoy, a bodyguard she identified only as ''Big John,'' or both men. She says in the suit that she was hit in the face and held down.

The bus was stopped and she was tossed out onto the Turnpike, she said, though she later was let back on the bus.

The bus left without her after a stop at a service plaza after she told others she had called police, the suit says, adding she had bruises on her arms, head trauma, a disc protrusion and lumbar sprain.

State Police Sgt. Brian Polite said Wednesday that a trooper interviewed her around 4:30 a.m. that morning at the Thomas Edison service plaza in Woodbridge and took a report that an unknown man had thrown her to the floor of the bus and then onto the road. Polite said the trooper did not see any visible injuries.

No one has been charged in the incident, which Polite said remains under investigation.

The woman said she had to take two trains to get home after being left at the rest stop.

A lawyer for McCoy could not immediately be reached by The Associated Press.
