Weaver has knee surgery

Published Sep. 22, 2010 6:25 p.m. ET

All-Pro fullback Leonard Weaver, who sustained a season-ending injury in Philadelphia's loss to Green Bay in Week 1, had surgery on his left knee.

Orthopedist James Andrews performed the surgery Tuesday in Birmingham, Ala., to repair a torn anterior cruciate ligament and torn posterior lateral corner in Weaver's knee.

Weaver was selected to the NFC Pro Bowl team last season. He had a career-high 323 yards rushing, 140 yards receiving and four touchdowns in his first season with the Eagles.
