WATCH: Todd Gurley ends slump with 140 yards, gotta-see TD run

St. Louis Rams rookie running back Todd Gurley emerged from a slump with his first 100-yard game in six weeks Sunday against the visiting Detroit Lions.

Gurley took a handoff from Case Keenum and swept around the left end before leaping at the 3-yard line as Lions safety Glover Quin flew in for an attempted tackle. The rookie running back planted his right hand at the 1-yard line and extended his left hand and the ball over the goal line for the touchdown.

"I was going to see if I could run over him, but I was at the 3-yard line so I don't know if I'm that strong to carry somebody three yards," Gurley said of his decision to take an aerial route. "I just used my instincts and jumped in the air."

The score came two plays after Gurley broke loose for a 49-yard run, his longest carry since Week 8 against San Francisco. After rushing for at least 125 yards in each of his first four starts, Gurley had been limited to a combined 60 yards on 18 carries in his last two games.
