Vikings' Walsh maintains confidence in spite of missed kick

EDEN PRAIRIE, Minn. (AP) Blair Walsh is taking confidence, determination and belief in the goodness of people into the offseason along with the bitter disappointment of that missed kick.

For the second time in a span of about 18 hours, Walsh graciously discussed his feelings about the 27-yard field goal try that went wide left into the wind and cost Minnesota a win over Seattle in the wild-card playoff game.

As players packed up and traded goodbyes on Monday, Walsh said he's been appreciative of kind, supportive words shared with him from family members, close friends, teammates and Vikings fans.

As for the vitriol expressed toward him through unsympathetic folks on social media, well, Walsh was unfazed by ''the people that don't matter.''
