VIDEO: Redskins Tight End Jordan Reed Throws Punch and Gets Ejected

Dec 7, 2015; Landover, MD, USA; Washington Redskins tight end Jordan Reed (86) runs onto the field prior to the Redskins

Sometimes when it becomes clear that a team is slipping out of the playoff race, frustrations boil over. Tight end Jordan Reed figured that out the hard way.

As his Washington Redskins were fading in a must-win game against the Carolina Panthers, he lost total control of himself. During a particular play in the second half he got into a scuffle with Panthers safety Justin Coleman. It seems like an ordinary shoving match that was due to get broken up. That is until Reed took it to an entirely new level.

Not only was it a crippling blow for the Washington offense on a night they’ve struggled, it was also ill-timed for fantasy owners everywhere. Part of why Reed did it was frustration with the score but also with his own performance. Up to that point he only had one catch for six yards. Odds are he felt the team wasn’t making a concerted enough effort to get him the football. Combine that with plenty of trash talk from Coleman?

Some guys can only take so much.

Reed should’ve known better and now he’s likely cost his team a chance at a comeback. To say nothing of the hefty fine that will be coming his way in the next few days.
