Tyrod Taylor is statistically the NFL's best fourth-quarter QB
Tyrod Taylor has provided a spark for the Buffalo Bills on offense this season, something they haven't had from the quarterback position for some time.
He now holds the Bills record for consecutive pass attempts without an interception and has demonstrated the ability to not only make big plays but take care of the football, too.
While that record is obviously impressive, what might be an even greater testament to his play this year is the fact that he leads the league in fourth-quarter passer rating (117). He's thrown six touchdowns and one interception in the fourth quarter, while also completing 65 percent of his passes.
“Our quarterback I think is the fourth-rated quarterback in the NFL ahead of some pretty decent guys [Brady, Roethlisberger & Rodgers among others],” Rex Ryan said via the team's official website. “So I think that’s an indication that we might have a real quarterback."
Additionally, eight of Taylor's 45 completions have gone for 25-plus yards, which is a huge number. He may not be the Bills' franchise quarterback, but he's played extremely well in his first season as a starter in the NFL.
