Tom Brady's mother arrives in Houston for Super Bowl LI
One of the story lines out of the New England Patriots leading up to the Super Bowl was whether Tom Brady's mom would be able to attend the game in Houston on Sunday (FOX, FS GO, 6 p.m. ET).
News came out this week that the Patriots' quarterback's mom, Galynn Patricia, has been battling an illness for the past 18 months.
On Saturday, Brady took to Instagram and posted a photo of his mom being sandwiched with kisses from her husband and Brady.
Also with Brady as Patriots players and their families enjoyed the scenery at NRG Stadium were his father, Tom, wife, Gisele Bundchen, and his three children. His sisters, Maureen and Nancy, were also there, as was his sister Julie and her husband, former Red Sox infielder Kevin Youkilis.
On Tuesday, CSNNE. reported that Brady's mom had been ill and noted the strain it had put on the quarterback and his family.
“It's been a challenging year for my family, just for some personal reasons," Brady said. "It'll just be nice having everyone here watching us this weekend. That's my mom and dad. They've been so supportive my entire life, it's nice to be able to show them . . . to try to make them proud . . . My mom hasn't been to a game this season. My dad has been to [only] one. It's very atypical.”
