Titans sign rookie Zaviar Gooden
Zaviar Gooden is officially a member of the Tennessee Titans.
FOX Sports has learned that the former University of Missouri linebacker agreed to terms Tuesday with the Titans on a four-year rookie contract. Financial details weren’t immediately available.
A third-round draft pick (97th overall selection), the 6-foot-1, 234-pound Gooden was one of the fastest linebackers in the 2013 NFL draft class. Gooden’s draft stock may have gotten hurt by a hamstring injury that limited him to seven starts as a senior.
Although projected as a backup linebacker entering his first NFL training camp, Gooden will have the chance to make an immediate impact on special teams.
The Titans still must sign the top three picks in their eight-man draft class: Alabama guard Chance Warmack (first round), Tennessee wide receiver Justin Hunter (second) and Connecticut cornerback Blidi Wreh-Wilson (third).
