NASHVILLE, Tenn. (AP) The Tennessee Titans have placed wide receiver Andre Johnson on the reserve/retired list and replaced him on the roster by promoting receiver Tre McBride from the practice squad.

The Titans announced the moves Tuesday.

Johnson informed the Titans (4-4) of his retirement Monday, ending his 14-year career ranked ninth all-time in receptions and 10th in yards receiving. He caught nine passes in eight games this season.

A seventh-round draft pick out of William & Mary last year, McBride caught two passes, one for a touchdown, and had six special teams tackles as a rookie.

The Titans also added wide receiver Jonathan Krause to the practice squad. Krause has been with Cleveland, Philadelphia, New England, Tampa Bay and San Diego, after playing at Vanderbilt in college.
