The Tennessee Titans have hired Brett Maxie to be the team's secondary coach.

The team announced Maxie's hiring on Monday. He replaces Marcus Robertson, who was not retained at the end of the season.

Maxie has spent the past four seasons with Dallas coaching defensive backs and has 14 seasons of NFL coaching experience, including stops at Miami, Atlanta, San Francisco and Carolina.

As an undrafted safety out of Texas Southern, he signed with New Orleans in 1985 and went on to have a 13-year NFL career. He played in 153 games, including 104 starts, and recorded 23 interceptions and three touchdowns
