Steelers re-sign veteran OL Max Starks

The Pittsburgh Steelers have re-signed veteran tackle Max Starks to a one-year deal to give the team's battered offensive line some much-needed depth.

The Steelers cut the seven-year veteran in the preseason in a salary cap move. Starks started 68 games with the Steelers between 2004-10 but missed the second half of the 2010 season after suffering a neck injury.

Pittsburgh made room for Starks by waiving second-year lineman Chris Scott.

The 29-year-old Starks hasn't played in nearly a year, but the Steelers desperately need help along the line. Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger has already been sacked 14 times this season.
