The Tennessee Titans don’t know if they can land Peyton Manning, but the franchise is now assured of having its starting strong safety back in the fold.

A source told FOXSports.com that Jordan Babineaux has agreed to a two-year contract extension that has a maximum value of $5 million.

After spending his first seven NFL seasons in Seattle, Babineaux made a solid impact in his 2011 Titans debut. Babineaux notched 93 tackles in 14 starts and had a 97-yard interception return for a touchdown in a 31-13 victory over Cleveland.

The Titans remain in pursuit of Manning, the star free-agent quarterback who already has met with team officials from Denver, Arizona and Miami. As first reported by ESPN, the Titans entertained seven-time Pro Bowl guard Steve Hutchinson on a free-agent visit Tuesday.
