RENTON, Wash. (AP) The Seattle Seahawks have signed rookie defensive tackle T.Y. McGill to take the roster spot of injured defensive lineman Tory Slater.

Seattle filled the open spot on its roster on Friday. Slater had been waived/injured on Thursday but cleared waivers and reverted to Seattle's injured reserve list. He does not count against the Seahawks' 90-man roster limit.

McGill started 21 of 49 career games at North Carolina State. He finished his career with 131 tackles, 10 sacks and 24.5 tackles for loss. McGill took part in Seattle's rookie minicamp last weekend on a tryout basis.
