Seahawks' Lynch going into Beast Mode with apparel store in Oakland

Marshawn Lynch's playing career remains uncertain, but he is going into full Beast Mode in the business world.

The star running back of the Seattle Seahawks will open his first "Beast Mode" apparel store on Friday in Oakland, per a report from the San Francisco Chronicle.

Lynch, who is contemplating retirement following an injury-plagued season in Seattle, is an Oakland native who played collegiately at the University of California. His store will offer a number of fashion items, including tops, sneakers and hats, that will feature graphics depicting Lynch's favorite icons.

The ribbon-cutting ceremony will be held two days before Super Bowl 50 in nearby Santa Clara. Oakland Mayor Libby Schaaf has proclaimed Friday “Beast Mode Day” in honor of Lynch.

Lynch, who earned the moniker "Beast Mode" for his punishing running style, was limited to seven games this season and underwent surgery for a sports hernia-related injury. Rookie Thomas Rawls played superbly while filling in for Lynch, who will turn 30 in April.
