Seahawks LB: We'd beat the Broncos 90 out of 100 times

Pose an honest question, get an honest answer.

Seahawks linebacker K.J. Wright was asked this week how many times Seattle would beat the Denver Broncos if the Super Bowl participants met 100 times.

"I'd probably go 90 out of 100," Wright said during an interview on Pro Football Talk on NBCSN. "They might've got lucky those other 10 times.  They're a good football team but you know the way we play, our style of play most teams just can't match up with it.  We are really good at what we do, we run the ball really well, we stop the run, and we just out-hit guys, so you know most teams just can'€™t match up with our style of play."

Wright's confidence stems in part from an early development -- very early, actually -- in Seattle's 43-8 romp in Super Bowl XLVIII in East Rutherford, N.J.

"The first play of the game, when they snapped the ball over their head, I was like, 'All right, man.  We got these boys.'  If you start the game off like that, something's not right.  When that happened, I was like, 'All right man, I got my nerves calmed down,' and I was like, 'OK, I believe we got this one.'"

Back-to-back Super Bowl victories is a tough feat to pull off -- indeed, a fair number of NFL champions have struggled to win a playoff game in their encore season -- but Wright thinks the Seahawks have what it will take.

"Now that we're at the top of the food chain, teams will be after us," he said. "I believe with the leadership we have on this team, we're going to keep progressing and getting better, keeping guys in Seattle.  We're going to be doing big things these next couple of years."
