Ron Rivera throws praise about Cam Newton's 2015 offseason

What more is there to say about Cam Newton? The quarterback of the Carolina Panthers now has a new contract and is getting praise sent his way from all over the place. The most recent person to have positive words about Newton this offseason is head coach Ron Rivera, according to Jeff Darlington of NFL.com.

"(Wednesday) was about as good as I've seen (Newton), as far as practice goes," Panthers coach Ron Rivera told NFL.com Thursday.

As Darlington points out, apparently Rivera was still impressed enough to mention it twice one day after the practice itself.

It's another step for Newton, who has spent much of the offseason working on his footwork and preparing to be even better in 2015 than in previous seasons. Newton has done a great job leading the Panthers, but he's showing that his new contract hasn't slowed him down one bit in terms of preparation for the coming season.
