Ron Rivera: 'There's only one Thomas Davis'
To echo the words of Ron Rivera, there truly is only one Thomas Davis. When the Carolina Panthers chose to give Davis a contract extension, they were making him a Panther for life, something that both the organization and Davis should be ecstatic about.
As David Newton of ESPN puts it, the contract that was given to Davis shows exactly what the organization thinks of the 2014 Walter Payton Man of the Year.
"That Davis, the NFL’s 2014 Walter Payton Man of the Year Award winner, will be allowed with this extension to retire as a member of the Panthers speaks volumes to what the organization thinks of him." Newton said.
Davis is not only an incredible player, but also an incredible man. There are so many things to be said about Davis, but the fact that he was given an extension worth $18 over the next three years at the age of 32, tells us all we need to know about the respect he's being given.
