Romo's fantasy event called off for second straight year

IRVING, Texas (AP) Dallas quarterback Tony Romo's fantasy football event has been called off for the second straight year, with more claims of interference from the NFL.
An attorney for the company partly owned by Romo said Tuesday that the fan-centric event scheduled for July 15-17 in the Los Angeles area was being postponed ''because of the NFL's continued and calculated actions.'' More than 100 players were expected to attend.
In April, Fan Expo LLC obtained a restraining order barring from the league from contacting sponsors after the video game company EA Sports withdrew.
The inaugural convention was supposed to be last summer in Las Vegas, but was called off after organizers accused the NFL of threatening players with fines or suspensions if they participated because of the venue's ties to gambling.
