Rob Ryan says Saints defense 'ranked 33rd and there are only 32 teams'

You don't need former New Orleans Saints defensive coordinator Rob Ryan to tell you that his old unit was struggling before their bye week.

Just in case you did, though, Ryan sounded off on the struggles, putting it into perspective a bit with one statement, via Kevin Patra of NFL.com.

Hey, at least he didn't come up with any type of excuses for the team's poor start to the 2015 season defensively. While Ryan may be out of the job currently, it will be interesting to see where he lands, and also to see how new defensive coordinator Dennise Allen does in Week 12.
