Reports: Cowboys LB Rolando McClain facing full-year suspension, may never play again

Cowboys linebacker Rolando McClain is facing a year-long suspension for missing a drug test, according to multiple reports.

“[T]here are doubts he will get to play again in the NFL,” ESPN’s Adam Schefter reports.

McClain was suspended 10 games in June for violating the league’s substance abuse policy. He was due to be reinstated from that suspension after this week but is now looking at an additional suspension of a full year after missing a recent drug test.

McClain was a starter for the Cowboys over the last two seasons. He began his career with the Raiders, who selected him eighth in the 2010 draft.

McClain ran into trouble with the law on multiple occasions while with Oakland and was released before the 2013 season. He signed with the Ravens but never played for the team and was traded to the Cowboys in 2015 after spending one year out of football.
