Report: Snyder says Redskins staying

The support might be building, but Daniel Snyder isn’t listening.

The Redskins owner removed any doubt about a potential name change for his franchise, telling USA Today that it will “never” happen.

"We will never change the name of the team," Snyder said. "As a lifelong Redskins fan, and I think that the Redskins fans understand the great tradition and what it's all about and what it means, so we feel pretty fortunate to be just working on next season."

Snyder makes this statement despite growing sentiment to change the name, which some consider a derogatory term for Native Americans. A DC councilman reportedly wants the name changed to Redtails.

But not eveyone is on board with the name change. This poll actually shows there's a lot more support than some might think.

Some diehard Redskins fans probably don't want to let go of the past. Where do you stand on the subject?
