Report: Shots fired at retired WR Marvin Harrison's truck

Retired Indianapolis Colts wide receiver Marvin Harrison was interviewed by police after he and another man were shot at early Saturday morning, according to the Philadelphia Daily News.

Harrison was driving his pickup truck in Philadelphia at about 3:20 a.m. Saturday when he was flagged down by a 38-year-old man wearing boxer shorts who was being chased by two alleged home invaders, police sources told the Daily News. The man allegedly begged Harrison to call the police, and Harrison allowed him to climb into the bed of the truck.

According to the report, one of the two men chasing the man in boxers pulled out a gun and fired twice in the direction of the truck. Neither Harrison, 41, nor the fleeing man was wounded, but a bullet apparently struck one of Harrison's tires, which went flat a short while later, the sources told the newspaper.

Harrison was interviewed by investigators and agreed to turn over the truck tire.

The victim told police the burglars stole $500 from his apartment. It is unclear if he had a previous connection to the men.

Harrison made 1,102 receptions and scored 128 touchdowns in an NFL career that ended in 2008, rolling up 1,000 or more receiving yards in a season eight times and caught 143 passes in 2002. He was also a finalist for the Pro Football Hall of Fame this year.
