Report: Man accused of slapping Hester
An Illinois man was arrested after allegedly slapping Chicago Bears wide receiver Devin Hester in the back of the head, the Chicago Tribune reported Tuesday.
The incident reportedly occurred last Friday at the Rivers Casino in Des Plaines, Ill., about 20 miles outside Chicago.
Hester was standing on a cash transaction line when 52-year-old Daniel Rago slapped him in the back of the head and walked away, according to the Tribune.
The report did not specify about a possible motive for the alleged assault.
Rago was detained by casino security guards after Hester notified them of the incident, and later arrested by Des Plaines police.
The 28-year-old Hester has long been one of the best returners in the NFL, with 11 career punt return touchdowns, including one this season. He returned a kickoff 98 yards for a score in the Bears' 39-10 victory Sunday night against Minnesota.
