Report: Colts Work Out Former Jaguars Pass Rusher Ryan Davis
The Indianapolis Colts are still in the market for improving their pass rush, as the team reportedly brought in former Jacksonville Jaguars pass rusher Ryan Davis in for a workout on Tuesday.
According to Yahoo Sports Eric Edholm, the Indianapolis Colts worked out former Jacksonville Jaguars pass rusher Ryan Davis on Tuesday:

Davis: 11 sacks in 38 NFL games.

Originally signed by the Jacksonville Jaguars as an undrafted free agent in 2012, Davis has amassed 11 sacks, 23 tackles, and 3 forced fumbles in 38 games during his 4-year career.

Per Pro Football Focus (subscription), Davis received a +75.2 pass rushing grade last season, which was the 44th best among “edge defenders”.
However, with aging pass rushers Robert Mathis and Trent Cole, and a lack of other proven options–although undrafted rookie Curt Maggitt has shown initial promise, the Colts could theoretically use a pass rushing boost.
Specifically, the Colts had 35 total sacks last season as a defense, which was only the 22nd best in the entire NFL. Between now and then, not much has changed as far as their pass rushing personnel, which means new defensive coordinator Ted Monachino will have to get creative with his blitz packages.
With 11 sacks in 38 career games, Davis could become a rotational pass rusher for the team and alleviate some of the stress off of the team’s veterans going forward.
