LOS ANGELES (AP) Rams tight end Cory Harkey is already a big winner in his team's new town.

Harkey won a Toyota pickup truck in a basketball skills competition at halftime of the Los Angeles Lakers' game against the Clippers, the Rams confirmed Thursday.

Harkey was among four fans picked Wednesday night to be contestants at Staples Center in the skills challenge, which resembled the event held during NBA All-Star Weekend.

The 25-year-old Harkey is a local, playing at UCLA after graduating from Chino Hills High School in the far Los Angeles suburbs. He is the son of former big-league pitcher Mike Harkey.

He has been a fullback and tight end for the Rams since joining the club as an undrafted free agent in 2012. He re-signed with the Rams in the offseason.
