Rams G Saffold getting second opinion to see if surgery required
St. Louis Rams offensive guard Rodger Saffold is receiving a second opinion to see if he needs surgery on his injured right shoulder.
Amid concerns that Saffold suffered a labrum tear in Sunday's loss at Green Bay, ESPN's Adam Caplan, citing a source, tweeted on Wednesday that Safford is not expected to return to the lineup soon, if at all this season.
The 27-year-old Saffold, who initially hurt his shoulder in the preseason, underwent surgery on his left shoulder in the offseason. St. Louis' offensive line struggled mightily in Sunday's setback as quarterback Nick Foles was under constant pressure.
Meanwhile, running back Trey Watts, who was waived on Monday and was expected to be re-signed to the practice squad, was not at practice Wednesday.
