Rams Coaches Kicked Out For Players-Only Meeting on Thursday

Updated Mar. 4, 2020 7:47 p.m. ET

Prior to Thursday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams players held a meeting without their coaches present.

In what was a solid showing of unity, the Los Angeles Rams had a players-only meeting before Thursday night’s game against the Seattle Seahawks.

According to NFL Network’s Steve Wyche, a Rams staffer told him that during the team’s final meeting before the game, players kicked coaches out in order to have a players-only gathering.

Wyche also noted that the bus ride over was extremely quiet and Rams players looked focused.

For a team that was disappointed to see their former head coach Jeff Fisher get fired, you have to wonder why this meeting happened now as opposed to earlier in the season, or even just a few weeks ago.

Regardless of its timing, it’s good to see the players take the initiative and come together to get this thing straightened out. After all, this team has collapsed as a total unit, so it’s going to take some team work to right the ship.

Unfortunately for Fisher, this attempt by the players to come together came too little, too late to save his bacon.

Los Angeles defeated Seattle earlier in the season and can play spoilers for the Seahawks’ chances of getting a first-round bye.

And, despite their complete ineptitude this season, Los Angeles still has a chance to make the playoffs; although there’s a better chance of the forecast in hell calling for snow.
