ALAMEDA, Calif. (AP) The Oakland Raiders traded up in the fourth round to select Michigan State quarterback Connor Cook.
The Raiders gave up the 114th overall pick and the 154th to Cleveland on Saturday to take Cook with the 100th overall pick.
Cook had been projected by many to go higher in the draft to a team looking for a potential starting quarterback. But instead he ended up in Oakland where he will compete with Matt McGloin as Derek Carr's backup.

Cook had a successful college career, starting 40 games the past three years for one of the nation's top teams. Cook threw for 71 touchdown passes and 9,194 yards in his career but completed just 57.5 percent of his passes.
