Police raid Reed's home; no arrest made

Published Dec. 10, 2010 12:00 a.m. ET

A police spokesman says authorities raided the home of Baltimore Ravens rookie kick returner David Reed earlier this week to investigate potential drug activity.

Lt. Robert McCullough of the Baltimore County police says no charges have been filed, but police did take evidence from his residence.

McCullough says police entered Reed's home around 10:30 on Tuesday night to ''investigate potential narcotics activities.''

He says the evidence that was confiscated is being analyzed, and that Reed ''currently is not being charged with anything.''

Ravens spokesman Kevin Byrne says the team is ''aware of the situation'' and has talked to Reed. Byrne says Reed will ''have his due process and his opportunity to talk about the circumstances.''
