Polamalu, Miller out for Steelers vs. Jets

Published Dec. 19, 2010 3:24 p.m. ET

The Pittsburgh Steelers are holding out injured safety Troy Polamalu and tight end Heath Miller from their game against the New York Jets.

Polamalu didn't practice all week after aggravating a right Achilles' tendon injury against Cincinnati. He has four interceptions in his last four games.

Miller (concussion) missed a second successive game. He practiced Wednesday and Friday, but missed Thursday's practice due to a concussion-related headache.

The Jets sat down safety Eric Smith, linebacker Jamaal Westerman, right tackle Damien Woody, defensive linemen Jarron Gilbert, Trevor Pryce and Matt Kroul and tight end Jeff Cumberland.
