Patriots claim WR DaVaris Daniels off waivers

The New England Patriots added yet another receiver to the roster on Tuesday by claiming wideout DaVaris Daniels off waivers. Tuesday was mainly a day to get down to the 75-man limit, but the Patriots took advantage of the opportunity to add players even after subtracting a few.

Daniels played his college ball at Notre Dame before going undrafted in this year's draft. He missed the entire 2014 college football season due to an academic misconduct investigation, but showed flashes of potential in 2013. That year, he caught 46 passes for 720 yards and seven touchdowns.

At this point, it seems like the Patriots are just adding receivers any way they can. But with less than a week before teams have to get down to the final 53-man roster, the Patriots obviously see some value in adding Daniels.
