Packers LB tackles fan running on field

Published Jan. 1, 2012 12:00 a.m. ET

Green Bay Packers linebacker Brad Jones' best tackle of the day might not have been on another football player.

Jones stepped up to make the stop when a fan ran on the field during the second half of Sunday's regular-season finale between the Packers and Detroit Lions at Lambeau Field without immediately being noticed by security.

Security took over from there, surrounding the fan and taking him into custody.

A Packers spokesman did not immediately comment on the incident. The team's website says entering the playing field without proper authorization is a ''violation of league rules and city ordinance,'' and that violators are subject to ejection and arrest.
