Ochocinco watches Patriots practice

Chad Ochocinco is spending his first full day with the New England Patriots watching practice.

The wide receiver was on the field Friday morning, but did not take part in physical activities. He spent considerable time chatting with quarterback Tom Brady and wide receiver Deion Branch.

The Patriots obtained Ochocinco from Cincinnati on Thursday, according to a person with knowledge of the deal who spoke on the condition of anonymity because neither team announced it. It was not known what the Bengals received.

Brady called Ochocinco a very prolific receiver who, hopefully, can find a role on his new team.

Albert Haynesworth was not on the field, but Brady said he saw him at Gillette Stadium. The Patriots obtained the defensive tackle from the Washington Redskins for a 2013 fifth-round draft choice on Thursday.
