No. 1 pick Jadeveon Clowney joins Texans

HOUSTON (AP) Anyone who's seen Jadeveon Clowney's monster tackle against Michigan in the Outback Bowl in 2013 won't be surprised to learn what the No. 1 overall pick likes best about football.

He says: ''Big hits. I'm all about hitting. I don't care who it is. I just like to make hits.''

That's what the Houston Texans are counting on after passing on a quarterback to select the South Carolina defensive end Thursday night.

He was introduced Friday in Houston, joining a team that features 2012 Defensive Player of the Year J.J. Watt.

New Houston coach Bill O'Brien, who's taking over a team that hasn't won since Sept. 15, says he admired many things about Clowney. But the coach says the best thing about him is that he loves winning.
