NFL Week 13: Best of #MyCauseMyCleats (Photos)
The NFL has allowed all of its players to wear expressive cleats in Week 13 to support causes of their choice. Here are the very best of #MyCauseMyCleats.
Often chastised for being the Not-Fun-League, the NFL has wisely thrown overwhelming support in its players’ decision to be expressive with their cleats…at least for Week 13. The NFL will let its players wear cleats in support of the charities, foundations, and causes they stand behind.
Here are the very best cleats from the #MyCauseMyCleats campaign in the NFL in Week 13. You can see them all by using the hashtag of Twitter.

Atlanta Falcons starting quarterback Matt Ryan will be wearing cleats in support of Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta. Ryan has been a huge supporter of CHOA since being drafted by the Falcons No. 3 overall in the 2008 NFL Draft.
He often makes visits to the kids at Children’s to bring smiles to their faces. Ryan has embraced being part of the Atlanta community for the last decade. Choosing to showcase his commitment to Children’s Healthcare of Atlanta only further illustrates how stand-up of a guy he is.

It’s no surprise that Kansas City Chiefs safety Eric Berry would chose to honor those with Hodgkin’s Lymphoma with a pair of purple cleats. The 2015 NFL Comeback Player of the Year was diagnosed with that type of cancer midway through the 2014 NFL season.
Berry’s triumph over cancer has been well publicized. Everything he does on the football field is a shining example of a guy who beat cancer. His lavender purple-ribbon cleats would only aid in his fight to end Hodgkin’s Lymphoma and cancer in general.

No doubt that Baltimore Ravens wide receiver Steve Smith Sr. would choose to throw support in ending domestic violence. Sunday against the Dolphins would not be Smith’s first time he has decorated his cleats to show that he wants to eradicate domestic violence from the national narrative.
Only this time, Smith won’t be fined or asked to remove his cleats displaying messages about ending domestic violence. Smith had been vocal in criticizing former Giants kicker Josh Brown in his domestic dispute with his wife stemming from the Pro Bowl.

Bears running back Jordan Howard’s cleats are bringing notice to pulmonary fibrosis. Howard lost his father to this disease. The Bears have not had a great season at 2-9, but the rookie tailback out of Indiana University is having a great season.
Howard has rushed for 766 yards on 149 carries and two touchdowns. Though the Bears are pretty much out of it in the NFC, Howard is a promising young player they can look forward to see running the football for the foreseeable future. He clearly is running for his late father in the Windy City.

He also will have Romans 5:8 across one of his cleats. Most NFL athletes are choosing to support charities and other initiatives on their spikes. Wentz’s decision to go religious could be perceived as controversial, but his faith is clearly important to him in his young NFL career.
