Titans punter Craig Hentrich says he is retiring from the NFL after 17 seasons.

Hentrich, who announced his retirement to reporters Wednesday, is the last link to the Tennessee Titans' 1999 Super Bowl team. He had been with the team since 1998 and was with Green Bay before that.

The 38-year-old Hentrich had contemplated retirement after the 2008 season, but changed his diet and exercise regimen and re-signed with Tennessee for the 2009 season. He averaged 46.9 yards on nine kicks, but suffered a calf injury in the second game against Houston and finished the season on injured reserve.

For his career, Hentrich averaged 42.9 yards per punt on 1,150 attempts.
