NFL cut-down day tracker: Roundup of some of the notable moves
Michael Sam was released by St. Louis on a busy day in the NFL. Some players will be handing in their playbooks, and some will be doing happy dances because they get to stay on an NFL roster.

AFC
Jets
The Jets waived WR Stephen Hill, a source told FOX Sports 1 NFL insider Mike Garafolo. Hill was picked before Bears WR Alshon Jefferey, in case you were wondering.
The team also waived QB Tajh Boyd.
Dimitri Patterson, who allegedly went AWOL for 48 hours, was released.
Dolphins
Miami released RB Daniel Thomas, paving the way for larger roles for Lamar Miller and Knowshon Moreno.
Browns
According to Mary Kay Cabot of the Plain Dealer, the Browns have released WR Nate Burleson, RB Chris Ogbonnaya and CB Leon McFadden, a third-round pick last year.
Bengals
Former Alabama quarterback AJ McCarron was placed on the reserve/NFI list and will not be able to practice for the next six weeks. The decision stems from an injury suffered in college or outside football
Broncos
The Denver Broncos have released nine-year veteran defensive tackle Kevin Vickerson and third-year safety Duke Ihenacho, a starter last season who had nine tackles in the Super Bowl.
Jaguars
The Jacksonville Jaguars finalized their 53-man roster Saturday by waiving cornerback Jamell Fleming, safety Sherrod Martin, linebacker Nate Stupar and receiver Kerry Taylor.
NFC
Giants
Giants WR Mario Manningham (calf), WR Trindon Holliday (hamstring) placed on IR. Garafolo reports that both are expected to be cut.
Big Blue also jettisoned QB Curtis Painter, FB John Conner and TE Kellen Davis.
Eagles
The Philadelphia Eagles have released 19 players, including kicker Alex Henery. Also among those released were cornerbacks Curtis Marsh and Roc Carmichael, both of whom were on the 2013 roster, running backs Matthew Tucker and Henry Josey, and wide receiver Damaris Johnson.
Rams
Michael Sam will not be on the 53-man roster as multiple sources are reporting he has been cut.
Seahawks
Seattle gave up on its experiment with Terrelle Pryor.
Tackle Eric Winston was let go.
49ers
Special teams ace and back up defensive back C.J. Spillman has been cut, according to Garafolo.
Lions
Wide receiver Kris Durham has been cut. The Georgia product caught 38 balls for 490 yards last season.
Saints
Champ Bailey was let go at a savings for $500k
