New Jets quarterback Tim Tebow already has one big fan in New York.

Cardinal Timothy Dolan, Archbishop of New York, said on his SiriusXM Catholic Channel show that he is a big believer in Tebow, who is not shy about expressing his religious beliefs.

"I'm kind of happy about [Tebow coming to New York]," Dolan said. "He's a class act. I've followed him with great interest and I highly respect him for his unabashedly Christian values. And I've never found it put-offish or arrogant. It's just very gentle and sincere."

Tebow has been criticized in the past for being so outspoken about his faith and for his prayer on the field, which has come to be known as Tebowing.

"The man of faith that he is, he's used to it," Dolan said of the criticism. "Because he loves Jesus, Jesus is the most important person in his life, and Jesus has told us when you are with Him and when you stand up with Him you can expect to be insulted and harassed. So he's used to it."
