Memo to Dolphins: Surf carefully?

Published Jun. 24, 2012 1:00 a.m. ET

Miami Dolphins players have been issued with new iPads to be used as playbooks for the upcoming season but have been warned that if they wander on to "unauthorized" sites during team meetings they will get hit with a $10,000 fine.

Sites including YouTube, Facebook and Twitter are all off-limits, the South Florida Sun-Sentinel reported.

Asked to name his favorite iPad application, left guard Richie Incognito deadpanned, "Playbook. The playbook is the new app of choice."

Despite the restrictions, the Dolphins players were unanimous in their praise of the decision to finally join other NFL teams by scrapping heavy playbooks.

"It's convenient," wide receiver Davone Bess said. "Every day we were getting stacks and stacks of papers with the installs. Now they can just download them on the iPad and it's there — bam!"

"I love it," added running back Reggie Bush. "It makes it so much simpler, and obviously that's where technology has taken us nowadays. It's amazing, and I'm glad we got it."
