Los Angeles Rams WR Brian Quick Still Has Plenty to Prove
Brian Quick has come up big for the Los Angeles Rams in the passing game over the last two weeks.
Without Brian Quick, the argument can be made the Los Angeles Rams wouldn’t be sitting on top of the NFC West heading into Week 5 with a 3-1 record. As amazing as it is to think of the possibility of that statement two weeks ago, the irony is how true it really is.
Quick may have only caught two passes against the Arizona Cardinals on Sunday, but those two passes ended up going for touchdowns, and turned out to be a big difference maker in the Rams 17-13 win. Not only did Quick come up with a big 65-yard touchdown towards the end of the first quarter, but he ended up hauling in the go-ahead touchdown from four yards out with less than three minutes to play.
After the defense did their part by holding off Arizona on the final drive, it would turn out that Quick’s late touchdown would end up being the difference maker in this one.

For a player that many believed would be cut during the offseason, anyone who said they were happy to see Quick make the 53-man roster would be lying when considering all of the frustrations surrounding the wideout over the years. In fact, the argument can be made that Quick only made the roster due to the injuries surrounding Nelson Spruce and Pharoh Cooper at wide receiver.
Even if that is the reason, Rams fans are certainly happy to have Quick on board when considering he’s responsible for three touchdowns over the last two games. Of course, the question now becomes whether Quick can continue this success over the course of the regular season.
With all of the uncertainty in the passing game for Los Angeles, this is the perfect opportunity for Quick to prove the team made the right decision by bringing him back for a fifth season. When considering he only caught 10 passes for 102 yards in 2015, and has already matched his career high of three touchdowns heading into Week 5, it’s understandable why some fans still have their doubts over Quick.
With that being said, the challenge for Quick now becomes finding a way to stay consistent, and continuing to make an impact on the Rams’ offense. If he can manage to do that, Quick will be just fine, and continue being a surprise fan favorite of the early 2016 season.
