Linebacker Derrick Johnson has signed a restricted free agent tender and will remain with the Kansas City Chiefs.

Johnson was the Chiefs' first-round pick out of Texas in 2005. But early last season, for reasons he said were never fully explained by the coaching staff, Johnson was moved to part-time duty.

Johnson had a key sack of Ben Roethlisberger in a victory over Pittsburgh, and he returned two interceptions for touchdowns in a 44-24 victory over Denver in the season finale.

The Chiefs also said Thursday that offensive lineman Ikechuku Ndukwe had signed a restricted free agent tender.
