Kindle to make NFL debut Thursday
Sergio Kindle, the Baltimore Ravens' top draft choice in 2010, was just 48 hours from making his NFL debut Tuesday.
Kindle, the former Texas Longhorns All-American defensive end/linebacker, missed all of last season after fracturing his skull in a fall inside a home in Austin, Tex., just three months after being drafted.
The six-foot-three, 250-pound pass rusher, who is listed as a linebacker on the Ravens' roster, is expected to suit up for Baltimore's first preseason game Thursday against the Philadelphia Eagles.
"We want to get him out there, put him on the edge and let him go," said Ravens defensive coordinator Chuck Pagano, according to The Baltimore Sun.
Kindle was a star at Texas, earning three first-team All-Big 12 honors, and helping the Longhorns reach the 2010 BCS Championship Game against Alabama.
The 23-year-old outside linebacker is learning the NFL ropes from some of the league's best players, including 12-time Pro Bowler Ray Lewis and four-time Pro Bowler Terrell Suggs.
