Jim Tomsula 'happy' with Jarryd Hayne's debut

Jarryd Hayne's debut didn't go as initially planned.

The former rugby star miffed his first punt return, but recovered in time.

He was later called into backup running back duties after Reggie Bush exited with a calf strain

Hayne finished with four carries for 13 yards, but head coach Jim Tomsula was pleased with his debut in spite of the mistakes.

"Players play football and sometimes things happen," Tomsula said, via ESPN. "Jarryd has got the mindset, in my mind, that he'll overcome ... don't let one play hurt you twice. I'm very happy with Jarryd."
