NEW YORK -- The New York Jets have claimed cornerback Johnny Patrick off waivers from the San Diego Chargers, and agreed to terms with cornerbacks Ellis Lankster and Darrin Walls.
Patrick, waived Tuesday by the Chargers, had a career-high 34 tackles with an interception and 1-1/2 sacks in 13 games, including four starts, last season. He was a third-round draft pick by New Orleans out of Louisville in the 2011 draft and played two seasons with the Saints.
Lankster, who could have become an unrestricted free agent, has been a special teams standout in his three seasons with the Jets. Walls, due to become a restricted free agent, played in all 16 games, including three starts, last season and recorded career highs with 24 tackles and five passes defensed.
